GOD’s Will For Man Part #2

Honey Do And Don’t List

I’m sure you’re familiar with a “To-do” list. These days, if you have a spouse, you may call it a “Honey-do” list.

For those of you who are not familiar with a “Honey-do” list, let me remind you.

To Do List

  1. Take out the garbage
  2. Wash your hands
  3. Pick up the dry cleaning
  4. Pay the credit card bill
  5. Pick up butter (NO substitutes!)
  6. A luxury car
  7. A mansion with lots of land
  8. Lots and lots of money
  9. World peace
  10. Your unconditional love

Okay, I may have exaggerated a little bit on the last one, but you get the point. In theory, a “To-do” list is not terrible. In fact, having a “To- do” list can be helpful. Let me explain. GOD had the first “To-do” list in history. Genesis 1 is a “To-do” list. God created the earth, the plants, the animals, the creeping things, then man and woman.

I think that’s very good for six days of work.

This is part two of God’s will for man. In part one, we discussed God making man in HIS image and after HIS likeness. However, I want to focus on what GOD did on the sixth day. Let’s look at Genesis 1:26. GOD said, “And let them, (Man) have dominion”. In order to determine GOD’s will for man, we must look up the definition of dominion. Dominion in the Hebrew means: “To tread down, subjugate, have dominion, prevail against, reign, (bear, move to) rule, take.” (Strong’s Concordance).

Notice, to rule, reign, and subjugate; In other words, have authority. So, GOD created the earth and everything in it, then he put the man to have authority over it, and to dress and keep it. (Genesis 2:15 KJV) Dominion was man’s first task on GOD’s “To-do” list.

The second task on GOD’s “To-do” list was for man, (Adam) to name all the creatures on the earth. GOD brought the creatures before Adam, both walking and flying creatures.

Personally, I would like to know how long that job took.

Once Adam finished naming all the creatures, GOD said, “It is not good for the man to be alone”. (Genesis 2:18). GOD then made Adam a helpmeet for him. GOD saw that Adam required help to complete his assignment, so HE provided it.

So, how does this apply to you? GOD’s will has not changed. HE still wants Man (mankind) to have dominion over the entire earth. If you think that’s a daunting task, GOD sent almost 8 billion people to help you.

Look at it this way, GOD placed Adam on the eastside of the garden, in the land of Eden. GOD wanted Adam to first dress and keep the garden. Then, it was Adam’s responsibility to expand, or multiply the garden throughout Eden, and then the world.

Notice that on the “Honey-do” list, there were instructions on not only what to do, but also, what not to do.

“5) Pick up butter (No substitutes.)”

GOD also had a not “To-do”. Man was not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I’m not going to discuss that part of the story in detail, but it’s important to know when to stay away from what GOD tells you too. Being outside of your “To-do” list could cause you trouble, pain, delay, or great loss.

Finally, before you dominate your world, first, dominate your country. Before you dominate your country, dominate your state/providence. Before you dominate your state/ providence, dominate your city. You guessed it… before you dominate your city, you must dominate your house. Yet, some of you may say, “Easy for you to say, my house is beyond crazy, it’s nuts!” Well, if you can’t dominate your house, then pick a room. Just start somewhere. Find out what GOD wants you to do to dominate your world. Complete your “Honey-do” list. Start small, multiply, and finish big for GOD. HE gave you the ability to do it. So, Dominate!
